Tree branches scratched across my face as I walked over the uneven ground. I was trying to push away the branches, but I seemed to keep missing. In frustration, I reached ahead of me, grabbed a branch and snapped it. I let the piece I broke off fall to the ground, only to step on it a second later. My companion sighed heavily.
